Product studio · Advisory

We build small, sharp products — and advise the teams building big ones.

Pennone Labs is an independent product studio and advisory practice founded by Alessandro Muti: 35 years of building software, seven patents, and a habit of prototyping the thing instead of debating it.

Products

Things that go missing, found.

Our first products start from a simple observation: the tracker already knows where your stuff is. What's missing is everything that happens next.

In development

Lost Bag Copilot

Your bag knows where it is. Now the airline will too. Share your AirTag or Find Hub link and Lost Bag Copilot handles the paperwork — the report, the follow-ups, the claim — until the bag is back in your hands.

  • Works with Apple AirTag and Google Find Hub share links
  • Pre-fills airline reports and compensation claims
  • Keeps a timeline you can hand to the airline, or the regulator
In development

Marine Asset Tracker

The dinghy, the outboard, the liferaft — the things that walk off a boat. A rugged tracker and a companion app built for life afloat, where cell coverage is patchy and salt water wins.

  • Sealed hardware designed for the marine environment
  • Alerts when an asset leaves the boat's geofence
  • Shares last-known position with the marina or the authorities

Advisory · Muti Advisory Services

Architecture and AI advice from someone who has carried the pager.

Muti Advisory Services is the consulting arm of Pennone Labs. Engagements are short, senior and hands-on: we work with CTOs, VPs of Engineering and founders who need an architect in the room, not a slide deck.

Cloud-native architecture

Platform reviews, migration strategy and the hard conversations about what to rebuild and what to leave alone — at the scale of thousand-engineer organizations.

Healthcare interoperability

HL7 FHIR, X12 EDI and revenue-cycle systems. Design and review of integrations that have to be correct the first time, because patients and payments depend on them.

Applied AI

Putting LLMs to work inside real operations: agents, skills and MCP integrations that automate the email, documents and spreadsheets a business actually runs on.

Engagements come by referral. If someone sent you here, mention who.

About

Alessandro Muti

Founder, Pennone Labs

Alessandro has been building software for more than 35 years. He started at Microsoft, where he created Windows Automatic Update and BITS, the background transfer service that still ships in every copy of Windows, and went on to lead architecture at Amazon, Flexport, WeWork and Agilysys. Most recently, at Oracle Health and AI, he ran architecture for the Consumer and Revenue Cycle organizations — some 1,300 engineers — reporting to the SVP.

He holds seven US patents, with two more pending from his work at Oracle. He is equally at home with cloud systems, embedded hardware, CAD and 3D printing — which is how a product studio ends up building trackers.

When he is not shipping, he is sailing. Hence the pennant.
